Mechatronics and Robotics Maintenance, Virtual Lab, and Principles of Control Systems must certify that you meet the following requirements
You must have the following experiences to do well in the Mechatronics and Robotics Maintenance and Virtual Lab course:
- Basic equipment use (e.g. minimum of 1-year experience in a commercial or industrial environment)
- Basic electrical background (e.g. minimum of 1-year experience using electrical principles and theory)
- Basic mechanical background (e.g. minimum of 1-year experience use of hand tools)
- Desire to develop mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong safety orientation
- Critical thinking skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and experience working with robotic operation and maintenance are beneficial
You must have the following experiences to do well in the Principles of Control Systems course:
- 2+ years of experience with Motor Controls (motor starts, variable frequency drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components) as well as troubleshooting/programming, including HMI components, Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs, and industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting.
- 1+ year of experience with repair of control network components.
- Some experience with robotic systems maintenance, including robot, tool, hydraulic systems, and teach pendant.
- SACA certification in a relevant area can be used as a substitute for some experience.
